Title: H1N1 Vaccination Events in Crooks and Baltic Canceled Due to Weather


Vaccination events scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in Crooks and Baltic have been canceled due to severe weather.

Residents of those communities are invited to attend vaccination event this Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 1:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in Exhibit Hall 1 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

Another clinic is also scheduled for Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Convention Center from 2p.m. to 8p.m.

This event is open to individuals who are part of the targeted first and second tier populations as identified by the Centers for Disease Control.

This includes:

  • Pregnant Women
  • People age 6 months to 24 years
  • Persons who live with or care for infants 6 months of age and younger
  • Health care workers and emergency medical services workers
  • Adults 25-64 with chronic health conditions*
    (*asthma, diabetes, neuromuscular diseases, renal diseases, cardiovascular diseases)

If you have not already done so, please consider having your child vaccinated.

To receive an H1N1 vaccination, individuals must fill out a medical consent form. The forms are available on both the City of Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County’s websites. www.siouxfallsflu.org; www.minnehahacounty.org

Additional vaccination events will be held as vaccine becomes available.
